Raiffeisen Bank Aval

Raiffeisen Bank Aval is among the largest banks in Ukraine.

Bank Aval Public Joint Stock Company was registered by the National Bank of Ukraine on March 27, 1992. In 1995 the Bank was accredited for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development projects implementation. Bank Aval’s own processing centre (Ukrainian Processing Centre) commenced operation in 1996. The Bank became a member of the Visa and Europay international payment schemes. Western Union recognised Bank Aval as their best partner in Easter Europe in 1997. The Bank joined the Deposit Guarantee Fund in 1999.

In 2001 the Bank was the first in Ukraine to implement pension disbursements with the use of ‘Onyx Pension’ plastic card. It also commissioned its ‘Aval Express’ express money order system. The equity capital hit the Ukrainian banking system record of 500 million Hryvnias in 2002. Recognised by Standard & Poor’s amont Top 100 banks of Central and Eastern Europe. In 2003 Bank Aval was awarded by Euromoney magazine as the best bank of Ukraine. Also in 2004 the Bank issued bonds amounting to 80 million Hryvnias. Its equity capital achieved the new record of 1 billion Hryvnias in 2004. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development mentioned Bank Aval as one of the largest and most dynamically developing banks in the Central and Eastern Europe. Bank Aval was the ‘Largest bank in 2003 in terms of net assets’ according to Investgazeta rating.

In 2007 Bank Aval was awarded by ‘The Banker’ magazine as ‘The Bank of the Year for Ukraine’. The Banker’s Brand Finance Global Banking 500 rating mentioned Bank Aval as the most expensive bank brand in Ukraine.

As of the end of 2013 Visa International recognised Bank Aval as ‘The bank of high payment discipline and customer portfolio quality’ fourth time in a row.

According to Commersant Ukraine Publishing House ‘Top 50 Banks of Ukraine’ rating Bank Aval was the runner-up and one of top three most profitable banks of Ukraine. Commersant Ukraine put Bank Aval among the best financial institution of Ukraine in 12 rating nominations.
